Garden Room, Crowborough road
Project: Garden room with mock garage door. Date: Spring 2023
Beth’s family had a “dead space” at the end of their garden with an old garage that was in poor condition.
The family decided they wanted to create a relaxing space/home office.
Beth found Tijs through a recommendation from a neighbour who had used his team before.
When the garage was removed, both the garden and the site had to be secured as it backs on to a public path.
Check out the gallery below to see how we created a false garage door to make sure the look of the building was in keeping with the local area.
For more of our false garage doors look at this nearby garden room build and this home office garage conversion in Streatham.
Beth says the build experience wasn’t too stressful at all,
“We found Tijs and his team very easy to work with, share ideas and best workings.
Tijs is very open with communication and takes pride in creating a fantastic build.”
While the original plan for the build envisaged the adults using it as an office, Beth says it is now quite a different space.
“The garden room is used as an additional social space and relax room. It’s very calming with the garden outlook.”
The room is now a blissful escape from the busyness of the house.
The family’s children play in it and their parents spend evenings here having a quiet drink, enjoying the tranquility.
The outside aesthetics of the garden room were at the forefront of the building’s design. Beth says,
“It was important the build reflected the house and looked like a natural extension to our home.”
And we hope you agree when we say, we think it does just that!
